MIAMI (WSVN) - Facebook users may be waking up to a rush of similar posts by their friends, but don’t worry, it’s yet another hoax.
The post, which calls for users to copy and paste some text or their information will become public, reads:
This hoax isn’t the first of its kind, as a widespread copy/paste post circulated Facebook friends’ timelines in 2015. Last year’s hoax dealt with an alleged subscription fee for Facebook, which was proven to be a false claim.
“Now it’s official! It has been published in the media. Facebook has just released the entry price: $5.99 to keep the subscription of your status to be set to ‘private.’ If you paste this message on your page, it will be offered free (paste not share) if not tomorrow, all your posts can become public. Even the messages that have been deleted or the photos not allowed. After all, it does not cost anything for a simple copy and paste.”
