REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio (AP) — A babysitter has been charged with murder and child endangering after authorities say she gave an 8-month-old boy a fatal dose of Benadryl last month.

Authorities say 43-year-old Lori Conley was baby-sitting eight toddlers and infants in her Reynoldsburg, Ohio, home when she found Haddix Mulkey unresponsive on May 13. He died at a Columbus hospital.

Conley was arrested Friday morning and is being held in Franklin County Jail. Police say charges were delayed until toxicology tests confirmed that Haddix had received a fatal dose of the over-the-counter allergy drug.

The boy’s mother, Katie Mulkey, said Friday that she wants justice for her baby.

Online court records do not indicate if Conley has an attorney. She was scheduled to appear Saturday in Franklin County Municipal Court.
