BIMINI, Bahamas (WSVN) — A small plane crashed in the Bahamas, killing two people on board, Sunday.

The twin-engine Piper plane went down minutes after taking off from South Bimini Airport. Airport officials received reports of smoke near the runway.

Authorities confirmed the deaths of both passengers.

Investigators will begin looking into what caused the crash, Monday morning.
