(WSVN) - A man thought he met the woman of his dreams at a South Beach hot spot. But cops say she turned his dreams into a nightmare and wiped him out … and he may not be the only victim. Rosh Lowe has the story in the Lowedown.

Stefan is dressed in the colorful designer shirt. He opens the door to the silver Mercedes. Out steps a woman dressed in a similar shirt.

Those shirts retail for almost $1,200.

Stefan thought their meeting at a South Beach night club hours earlier was meant to be. What are the odds? The same shirt?

Stefan: “Her technique was very casual, very charismatic.”

Rosh Lowe: “You thought you were falling in love?”

Stefan: “Something like that.”

On this surveillance video, you can see the couple walking in.

Stefan: “[At] 6, 6:30 in the morning, I come here. I was just coming to get my stuff for the next day. We were going to go to a hotel. She said, ‘We can stay here.'”

So they did. Stefan, a Canadian tourist, thought that he had met someone he connected with.

Rosh Lowe: “Did you ever say to yourself, ‘I have a stranger in my house?’ Did you ever think that to yourself?”

Stefan: “No, not really. When you are picking up a girl after a club and you are going out drinking, you figure you are going to get lucky.”

But luck was not on Stefan’s side.

Stefan: “She took $1,500 U.S., $500 Canadian and $200 of my friend’s US.”

Rosh Lowe: “She took a lot of money.”

Stefan: “I was here for a week. That was my budget for a week.”

Stefan was sleeping on the couch. When he woke up in the morning, the first thing he did was look for this woman. She was gone. He had his suspicions, his heart started to race and then he realized his friend’s rolex was gone and all of his cash.

Stefan: “As soon as I wake up, they came in my room, my two friends came into my room and say, ‘Hey, how are you, you got lucky last night?’ I say, ‘Where is she?’ Right away, I said, ‘Where is she?'”

She was walking out of the Aventura condo. Here she is strolling away

Aventura police telling us they are looking for this woman … and they aren’t the only ones.

Stefan: “There’s another case in Coral Gables.”

That’s right, the police in Coral Gables are also investigating a similar case where a guy was drugged and his Rolex was ripped off. And they are looking to see if it’s the same woman.

Stefan: “How could you do this to someone who is so nice? I’m not saying it’s like a relationship. But if she’s conned you into thinking it’s more than one night or whatever it is. For me, OK, I fell asleep. The next morning, we wake up, go for breakfast.”

But there was no breakfast. He leaves Miami with a $20,000 watch gone.

Stefan: “There’s an award for $5,000 dollars.”

Stefan admits he has learned a lesson. The couple with the matching Versace shirts doesn’t have a storybook ending. It’s a story of life in the big city.

Stefan: “Now I know.”

Rosh Lowe: “Welcome to Miami.”

Stefan: “Welcome to Miami, that’s right.”
