SUNRISE, Fla. (WSVN) — The Florida's state tax-free holiday weekend has kicked off just in time for back-to-school.

At the Sawgrass Mills mall in Sunrise, shoppers are lining up to take advantage of the good deals and the tax-free holiday weekend. "Well, it saves me money, lots of money," said shopper Joanne Harris, who's enjoying the sales.

At Old Navy in Sawgrass, the store is fully staffed and ready for the back-to-school shopping. "Busy, busy, we are so excited. We love this; this is so much fun for us," said Old Navy employee Teresa Thompson

From sneakers to cool backpacks, even school uniforms are available at the store. "Today we actually went and did all of her shopping, so she's done for school," said shopper Tiffany Lucania.

"I got notebooks. I got a lot of stuff," said Jenesy Lucania, who's excited for school.

The tax-free weekend starts on Friday and ends Sunday, Aug. 4.
