WSVN — Sunday mornings have never sounded better. The restaurant at the Setai Hotel in South Beach has just launched their new Sunday jazz brunch.
Barbara Newton: "We wanted to come somewhere where we could listen to nice soothing jazz on a Sunday, and it's way beyond our expectation."
Every Sunday morning, starting at 11:30, you can relax to the sounds of jazz greats like Nicole Henry and eat until your heart's content.
Norma Quintero: "When you walk in and you see this spread, it's just magnificent. I don't think we'll be eating for a week."
Now, we gotta warn you, this is not your typical eggs and waffles spread. It's so much more.
Jonathan Wright, Executive Chef, Setai Hotel: "We are authentic Asian cuisine, We have Indian, Thai, Malaise, Singapore, Vietnamese."
The stations are set up like an Asian marketplace where chefs from different countries serve up anything from dim sum to Indian curries.
Jonathan Wright: "So all our Asian chefs on a Sunday brunch have their own chef tables. All their ingredients are from their country. Then they are there to communicate and describe their dishes to the guests."
Barbara Newton: "We're not even trying any of the traditional egg dishes. We're just trying some of the exotic foods, and it's delicious!"
But, all you traditionalists won't go hungry. There's literally something for everyone. Plus, the champagne and Bloody Mary's flow freely all day.
Norma Quintero: "The highlight of the day right now are the Bloody Marys. They are delicious, they are spicy, just right."
If you're more of a downtowner, on the weekends check out Area 31's new Sunday brunch at the Epic Hotel.
John Critchley, Executive Chef, Area 31: "So, for $50 you can get all-you-can-drink Bloody Marys, mimosas, amazing food, great view."
The focus is on seafood with ceviches, lobster, ravioli, a caviar station and the crab cakes which were going fast.
Adam Larkey: "Originally, I'm from Maryland, so I know all about the crab cakes. The crab cakes here are spectacular. Unbelievable."
There's also a station dedicated to eggs, which this young lady seemed really excited about.
Elizabeth Jimenez: "You can get them however you want, you can get them as an omelet or fried, sunny-side up, poached. They give you a lot of options, and I like that."
But, one of the best perks is dining on the patio, where you get an amazing view of Downtown Miami and Biscayne Bay.
Adam Larkey: "It's a perfect place to soak in the city. Boats going by, nice sun, nice breeze."
So, take it easy, Monday is right around the corner.
The jazz brunch at the Setai is $68. Brunch at Area 31 is $50.
