WSVN — Miami-Dade and Broward public schools are making sure they stay ahead of the technology curve. Craig Stevens is here now with today’s appsolute must-have download.

Miami-Dade public school making waves with their new app aimed to help make things a little easier for their parents, teachers and students.

Thais Prado: “We like to stay at the forefront of cutting edge technology and it’s important to us that we provide the best services.”

DadeSchools Mobile lets parents and students get updated information on the new school year.

Thais Prado: “Parents and students will be able to access the students class schedule, the class schedules will have the teachers names, room number, obviously the subject matter.”

Just log in with a username and password to view your account. Parents with multiple children in Miami-Dade schools will have access to the class schedule for each of those students with one log in but it doesn’t stop there.

Thais Prado: “Will be able to see their bus route data, such as their drop off and pick up location, the times and their bus number.”

The app will continue to evolve throughout the year.

Thais Prado: “Also, we will be having the report card available for parents and students as the school year progresses.”

Teachers can use the Catch A Ride tab to save a little money and time.

Thais Prado: “Will be able to carpool with other employees of Miami-Dade County schools.”

And everyone can use the notification tab which lets everyone know when there is a school lockdown or closing due to weather conditions. The app also includes contact information for each school.

Broward County parents there is an app for you as well.

Broward County Public Schools app has everything from sports scores to contact information for your child’s school.

It also has school and staff info and most importantly will allow you to receive important alerts for your child’s school.
