HOLLYWOOD, FLA. (WSVN) - It’s not every day the leader of the free world calls, but that’s exactly what President Obama did for a South Florida radio station.

Obama phoned into a nationally syndicated show, “Rick Party in the Afternoon,” that airs in South Florida on Hot 105 FM.

Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is off the trail while she recovers from pneumonia, so she’s enlisting help from Obama himself. “We got POTUS on the phone, President Barack Obama,” said the radio host.

The Hot 105 radio interview was anything but ordinary. Obama asks the show, “Y’all staying out of trouble?”

“We’re trying, President,” said the host. “You see, we’re trying to figure out what to call you. PBO? Or Barry B? Or BO?”

“You know, just call me POTUS, man,” said Obama.

He said his big plans for retirement include a round of golf in the Sunshine State. But first on his list?

“I’m gonna sleep, I’m gonna eat, I’m gonna take Michelle someplace nice,” said Obama in the radio interview. “She’s all, ‘It better be nice! I’ve been putting up with all this for eight years.'”

The proud father was quick to talk about his eldest daughter and her first experience at the polls.

“Let me tell you, Malia, my daughter who just turned 19 …”

“How she doin?'” asked one of radio show hosts.

“She’s doing great,” replied Obama. “She voted in the primary in Washington, D.C., even though by that time Hillary Clinton had already gotten the nomination. She dragged a bunch of her friends and went to vote, and she came back and said, ‘I didn’t realize it was that easy and quick!'”

7News spoke to Hot 105’s program director, Phil Michaels-Trueba, who said it was incredible to have the president phone in.

“It’s a great honor,” said Michaels-Trueba. “The White House says he only called two radio stations in the entire country.”

As the interview continued, the host had one more question.

“Ya’ll need someone to help ya’ll move ’cause I ain’t doin’ nothin’,” said the host.

“No, you stay back,” said Obama.

“OK, well, all right.”

“Don’t even think you’re coming.”

“Just thought I’d ask.”
