MIAMI (AP) — Offensive lineman Lance Louis, still rehabilitating from a season-ending knee injury, signed Wednesday with the Miami Dolphins.

Louis tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in November with the Chicago Bears. He said his rehabilitation has gone well, and he hopes to be ready for training camp in July.

"Last time I went to the doctor, he told me I was ahead of schedule," Louis said. "I definitely want to be there for training camp and competing with those guys."

The 6-foot-3, 320-pound Louis spent the past four seasons with the Bears, where he made 28 starts at guard and tackle. They drafted him in the seventh round in 2009.

He said the Dolphins appealed to him in part because he thinks they're improving after four consecutive losing seasons.

"It's a nice city, and a great team on the rise," Louis said. "I feel like Miami is going to be one of the teams to be reckoned with this year."
