MIAMI (WSVN) — A Miami man has been charged with attempted first-degree murder for shooting at his neighbors during a fight… over cats.

On Wednesday, a judge ruled to upgrade the charges against 70-year-old Jose Estrada, who, according to his neighbors, fired multiple shots at them as they stood inside their living room.

Now, instead of a second-degree murder charge, he was hit with attempted first-degree murder.

Homeowners Ariel Garcia and Ana Perez said he complained about their cats for years and made their lives miserable, until April 1, when that feud boiled over with Estrada shooting at them. Garcia and Perez caught the shooting on camera. They were not injured.

The dispute, which spanned over three years, was over feeding stray cats.
