FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - It’s time once more for a South Florida crowd favorite. 7News went on board to see how participants are getting ready for the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade.

Christmas music was blaring, holiday spirits were high, and at least 30 hours were put in for decorating the Two Men and a Truck boat in preparation for the parade.

They are not new to being front and center since this boat is typically entered in seven or eight parades in a year, but one has always topped the list. “It’s not Christmas in Fort Lauderdale without attending the Winterfest Boat Parade,” said Britt Lanier, of the Two Men and a Truck team.

“There’s a lot of work going into it,” said another team member. “There’s a lot of stress, there’s a little bit of anxiety, but once you actually go, you have fun.”

And Britt Lanier and the rest of the Two Men and a Truck team would know the drill since this will be their 11th year on the water for the parade.

Some of what is designed to catch your eye are 10 snowflakes on each side of the boat that will light up. The whole boat has been upgraded to LED lights. The team hasn’t yet put up the Christmas tree of lights that will top it all off.

“We decided to go old school and keep it Christmasy, so we’re doing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” said Lanier, “so we’ve integrated our mascot which is Trucky, So it’s Trucky’s winter wonderland featuring Rudolph and his friends.”

They’ve taken home a lot of hardware over that time, which they said is always a good feeling, but not the reason they do it. “You enjoy the crowds, you enjoy the excitement that it brings on the water and it’s just a fun, fun event.”
