WESTON, Fla. (WSVN) – A 10-year-old boy was possibly bitten by a venomous snake while fishing in Weston.

According to a Broward Sheriff’s Fire Rescue spokesperson, the boy was with his brother fishing in along the Griffin Road Canal, west of 170th Avenue, in Weston. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue’s Venom Unit investigated and said it was a non-venomous snake.

The boy was transported to Memorial Regional Hospital.
