WESTON, Fla. (WSVN) – A water main erupted underneath a home in Weston, Monday afternoon, causing a hole to open up in the driveway.

According to officials, the break took place under a residence in the Country Isles community, near Royal Palm Boulevard and Country Isles Road.

The hole partially trapped homeowner Andres Suarez’s car, covering the back of the vehicle dipping into the water. “The whole rear was already flooded, and the gas tank and the exhaust was already covered by the flood,” he said.

The vehicle was later removed, but Suarez said the damage was done. “I was kind of frustrated because this is the third situation that happened, and it’s all in my street.”

Suarez said he does not know the extent of the damage to his car but confirmed that no water got inside the interior of the vehicle. Crews capped the leak before it caused any more damage.
