FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - It is now safe to play in the water across most of Fort Lauderdale, but a warning remains in place for a couple of parts of the city, three days after two sewer line breaks.

Officials said the precautionary water advisory was lifted after test results coming back showing the water is safe to swim in.

Crews continue working to repair Thursday’s sewer line breaks at George English Park and near Southeast 10th Avenue in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. The ruptures sent raw sewage into several waterways.

Officials said almost all inland waterways may be used again for water-related activities, except for two. George English Lake at Bayview Drive and Himmarshee Canal from the New River to U.S. 1 will remain closed until further notice.
