FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - A Tri-Rail train that had to stop for some time near the Fort Lauderdale station, Monday morning, after it struck and killed a pedestrain.

The train was stopped for nearly two and a half hours before the scene was cleared.

According to officials, at 7 a.m., at least one train heading northbound was delayed to the station after it struck and killed one person.

Tri-Rail was shut down between the Broward Boulevard station and Interstate 595 as police and crime scene crews worked to investigate the fatality, north of the Fort Lauderdale Airport Station.

By 9:30 a.m., the scen ewas cleared and normal activity had resumed.
