MIAMI (WSVN) - Health officials have lifted a precautionary swim advisory around Jungle Island, days after a sewage spill in the area.

The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County made the announcement on Friday based on water quality results.

On Monday, wastewater from a pipe near the American Airlines Arena spilled into surrounding bodies of water, prompting officials to issue the advisory the next day.

After two consecutive days of good results at the beaches along the Rickenbacker Causeway, the advisory was lifted for the beaches including Hobie/Windsurfer, Marine Stadium and MAST Academy, Thursday.

The beach near Jungle Island was the sole remaining area under the advisory. The water is now safe for swimming and recreational water activities.
