SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A death investigation is underway after, police said, a man and a woman were found dead inside their Southwest Miami-Dade home in what is believed to have been a murder-suicide.

According to Miami-Dade Police, a call came in about the discovery on the 12900 block of Southwest 50th Lane, Sunday, just after 1 p.m. Investigators described the deceased as a couple.

Police identified them as 62-year-old Lisette Iglesias and 50-year-old Pastor Paez. Investigators said Paez fatally shot Iglesias, then turned the gun on himself.

Iglesias’ adult son was the one who found the bodies. 7News cameras captured loved ones embracing outside of the home.

Area residents said they didn’t hear or see anything, and they described their street as quiet.

Speaking with 7News in Spanish, neighbor Aimee Carillo said she was saddened by the news. “I didn’t know them, but I do feel sorry that both of them died, because they are two human beings who shouldn’t have died,” she said.

Sunday afternoon, crime scene tape remained on the street and in front of the home where the couple was found as police continued to investigate.
