JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WSVN) — Surveillance video captured an alarming encounter between a security guard and two students at a middle school in Jacksonville.

A warrant for Robert Fields’ arrest says the two students he scuffled with were 13 and 14 years old.

Court documents say on Dec. 9, 2015, the boys disobeyed their teacher and went outside to play before encountering Fields.

The video shows three takedowns where Fields knocked the boys to the ground. Twice, the boy in blue could be seen walking away when Fields grabbed him.

Chris Carson, a criminal defense attorney, was shocked by the video.

“You hate to see force like that used on kids unless it’s absolutely necessary, and really, I don’t know that it looked that way in that situation,” Carson said.

Two days after the scuffle, the mother of one student who was arrested complained to the district saying Fields “choked her son and banged his head against the wall.”

Fields was later arrested in May. He eventually plead guilty to a misdemeanor. He was sentenced to one day in jail and a year of probation.

Two school resource officers were reprimanded for not thoroughly investigating the matter.

Charges were also dropped against the one student.
