SOUTHWEST RANCHES, FLA. (WSVN) - Police have arrested a man suspected of having child pornography, Thursday morning, after serving a search warrant at his Southwest Ranches home.

According to Davie Police, the FBI’s Internet Crimes Against Children task force, along with Davie police and other agencies, entered a home and arrested 62-year-old Bruce Muehlfelder and placed him under arrest for multiple charges of possession of child pornography.

Neighbors said they were awoken around 5 a.m. by a loud explosion and SWAT team officials raiding the suspect’s home. “No, no, no, I tell my husband this morning that’s the problem,” said one neighbor. “Maybe something with the child or maybe he has somebody inside there. It just scares me.”

Police were seen taking away evidence from the home. “The subject was placed under arrest, and they recovered numerous boxes with computers, hard drives, printed photos, CDs and thumb drives that all contained child pronography,” said Davie Police Sgt. Mark Leone. “One of the crime scene photos that I saw had a label on one of the thumb drives that was labeled ‘Pre-Teen.'”

Police said Muehlfelder shared his collection through private messages on Twitter. They alerted police. “Between August 2015 to April 2016, there were numerous tips in regards to child pornography,” Leone said.

According to police, detectives were shocked by the amount of boxes and thumb drives they found inside of the office and an adjacent closet. “One of the detectives described it to me: a closet — floor to ceiling — filled with boxes and boxes of child pornography,” Leone said.

Detectives said Muehlfelder even had framed photos of children performing sexual acts on display. “They even found some of the child pornography framed in what you would put a nice family photo in, pictures of children performing sex acts,” Leone said.

Despite there being no children in the house and that Muehlfelder has no children, Davie Police said they discovered boxes of children’s clothing, including children’s undergarments.

Officials also questioned Muehlfelder’s wife, who was also home at the time of his arrest. His wife told police she had no idea of what was going on inside of the office, nor had she ever entered his office.

Neighbors told 7News that the house next to the suspect’s is home to three children. “In the first house here, they have like three kids,” said neighbor Patricia Villa.

Davie detectives said they will need time to count all the images. However, Muehlfelder will face a judge Friday.
