MIAMI (WSVN) - A South Florida revered is asking for the community to participate in a gun buyback event that is to be held in Miami.

Reverend Jerome Starling is attempting to appeal to gun owners and have them sell back their guns at the No More Stray Bullets buyback event Saturday.

Starling, whose 5-year-old niece was killed by a stray bullet, wants the community to come together and help take guns off the streets. “I plea that the community come to the gun buy back,” Starling said. “Look under your beds. Look everywhere in your house. Get these guns and bring them in.”

The event will take place at Athalie Range Park, located at 525 N.W. 62nd St., Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
