KEY BISCAYNE, FLA. (WSVN) - A South Florida nonprofit and some concerned South Florida residents collected tons of donations, Wednesday, to ship to hurricane-stricken Haiti.

The nonprofit organization Flying High for Haiti and residents of Key Biscayne collected tons of donations to be shipped by boat to the island nation, which was ravaged by Hurricane Matthew in early October.

Designer Donna Karan is picking up the bill to transport the donations.

B’Nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton teamed up with the charity Hot to send more than $250,000 in relief supplies. They filled three large trailers with critically needed supplies, as well as almost $30,000 in cash.
