HIALEAH, FLA. (WSVN) - Six people, including four middle school students, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after, officials said, a car crashed into a private school bus in Hialeah, Thursday afternoon.

7Skyforce HD hovered above the scene of the accident in the area of West Third Avenue and 14th Street.

According to Hialeah Police, a dark colored sedan might have either run a stop sign or failed to yield and struck the school bus, just before 5 p.m. The bus driver swerved to avoid being hit but ended up against a concrete barrier.

The owner of the home where the barrier is located said he had just recently repaired it. “This is not the first time. This is the second house in six months,” Orlando Fernandez said. “Yeah, I rebuilt it just four months ago, and look at what happened now.”

Fire rescue officials said two adults and four children were transported to area hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.

A spokesperson from Mireya Bus Company told 7News the car that struck the bus ran a stop sign and confirmed the students are from Miami Springs Middle School.

The driver of the other car will likely be cited.
