FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - The Broward County School Board and their teachers union settled some money matters, Tuesday.

The board voted to approve a 2.5 percent raise for all teachers, retroactive to the 2015-2016 academic year.

In a move strongly opposed by teachers, the board eliminated a $2,600 supplement for high school instructors who have sixth period classes.

Teachers complain the loss of that bonus will essentially cancel out their raise.

The board said money is tight because Tallahassee continues to underfund education.
