MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. (WSVN) - Concerned South Floridians took to the streets of Miami Gardens to call for an end to gun violence.
Protesters who took part in Sunday’s peace walk brought attention to the death of James Isaiah Solomon. The 15-year-old was shot while attending the wake of his cousin, another victim of gun violence.
Solomon’s mother, Sirena Harrell, offered a grim warning if things don’t change. “If we don’t speak up and speak out and come together as one, these tragic situations will continue to happen,” she said.
Solomon was shot Aug. 27, near Northwest 83rd Terrace and 19th Avenue, in Northwest Miami-Dade.
If you have any information on this shooting, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
