POMPANO BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - A Pompano Beach spearfisher survived a close encounter with a rattled nurse shark, Sunday.
Sean O’Connor was filming while he was out diving when all of a sudden he became tangled in his spear’s line.
As he worked to get free, his struggle caught the attention of a nearby nurse shark.
The shark tried to bite him, but he was able to distract the shark by waving a dead fish in his hand. Once the shark got distracted, he escaped unharmed.
