FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — Police are hunting for a violent crew of South Florida robbers who have recently attacked multiple women in shopping center parking lots.

The SunSentinel reports that the group has ambushed women with beatings and pepper spray while stealing purses, cash and electronics this week at shopping centers in Plantation, Fort Lauderdale and Dania Beach.

Some of the women have also been followed to their homes, where investigators say their cars were stolen.

Police say the robbers appear to include two women and possibly two men. The attacks began a week ago and usually take place at night. The suspects use a dark-colored Nissan sedan with dark tinted windows.
