PLANTATION, FLA. (WSVN) - An arson investigation is underway after a car in Plantation went up in flames overnight.

Police believe a glass bottle filled with gasoline was thrown at the car parked along Northwest 10th Court, near West Sunrise Boulevard, sometime Tuesday night.

One witness caught the fire on cell phone video.

A person who lives nearby said the flames reached up two stories high and called 911. “My mom, she sleeps right there,” he said. “She heard a ‘bang,’ like, I guess one of the windows popped from the fire, and it woke her up, and she woke all of us up. It was crazy. The car was just engulfed in flames.”

According to officials, the vehicle was stolen out of Fort Lauderdale.

Plantation Fire Rescue was on the scene for several hours trying to put out the flames. Luckily, no one was injured.

If you have any information on this fire, call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $3,000 reward.
