MIAMI (WSVN) - Police are looking for a man who they say burglarized and vandalized a Miami-Dade school three times in recent months.

Miami-Dade Schools Police showed 7News surveillance video of a man breaking into the Waterways Preparatory Academy at Krop Annex, off Ives Dairy Road in Miami.

Police said the man burglarized the school three times across June and August. The last break-in happened on Aug. 24.

The video shows him breaking into the school that day and opening drawers, looking for the digital video recording system. He has even set fire to the system twice in an effort to destroy surveillance footage.

“They broke inside the room and set fire to the room,” Dumas said. “He came back and he entered the school the same way, and this time, he tried to locate the DVR but was unable to do so.”

One student said they saw a broken window being repaired. “I saw how they were rebuilding the windows,” she said. “Yeah, that were smashed. Everyone was talking about it around school.”

“The message is the sign of the times for everybody,” one parent said.

Police said the video is so clear of the man, they’re confident they’ll catch him.

“I know we’re going to get him,” Miami-Dade Schools Police Sgt. Deyontay Dumas said. “I’m very confident with our detectives that they’re going to be catching this guy very, very soon.”

If you have any information on this robbery, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
