PEMBROKE PINES, FLA. (WSVN) - The pilot of a small plane was injured after, officials said, the aircraft crashed during takeoff at North Perry Airport, Saturday evening.

Officials said the Piper Cherokee experienced a minor engine failure during takeoff and crashed at the airport located at 7501 Pembroke Road in Pembroke Pines.

The male pilot suffered some lacerations to his face but was not transported.

North Perry Airport remains operational.
