HOLLYWOOD, FLA. (WSVN) - A Hollywood Police officer was transported to the hospital after a crash along the express lanes of Interstate 95, Wednesday morning.
7Skyforce flew over the scene as the officer was being wheeled into an ambulance. They were transported to Memorial Regional Hospital in stable condition.
The crash happened sometime before 7 a.m., along the southbound lanes of I-95, just after Stirling Road.
According to officials, it was a single vehicle accident. It remains unknown what caused the officer to lose control.
Police said the cruiser was totaled. Clean up crews responded to the scene to clear the debris.
The crash caused heavy delays along the main line. The express lanes were also shut down.
