MIAMI (WSVN) - Multiple child pornography charges have been dropped against a South Miami Police detective.
According to officials, the state dropped the eight counts of child pornography 47-year-old Joe Mendez was facing.
Investigators said the pictures found on his phone turned out to be old pictures of his girlfriend.
However, Mendez is not in the clear. He still faces charges for allegedly giving alcohol to a minor and showing obscene material to a minor.
