MIRAMAR, FLA. (WSVN) - Miramar High and Sunshine Elementary schools were temporarily evacuated due to a bomb threat, Friday afternoon.

Miramar High students could be seen sitting on the bleachers surrounding the track field, while students from Sunshine Elementary were evacuated to a nearby church.

By  2:15 p.m., the threat was cleared at Sunshine Elementary and students were allowed back onto campus for their regularly scheduled dismissal.

By the time the elementary school students arrived to their campus, a couple of parents were waiting to pick up their kids.

At around 2:45 p.m., the threat was cleared at Miramar High and students were allowed back on campus.

Police investigated the bomb threats. K-9 units could also be seen searching the elementary school grounds.

It is unclear what, if anything, was found.

Miramar police began their investigation at around 1: 15 p.m.

An investigation is underway.
