MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - The City of Miami Beach has released plans detailing upcoming changes to Ocean Drive.

Changes include improved lighting, removing furniture and fixtures from the sidewalk to make it easier to navigate and dedicated police patrols.

The plan comes as a part of a $317 million budget proposal, approved Tuesday.

“We believe that this proposal will restore the glamor and the beauty of Ocean Drive, and we are very excited about it,” said City of Miami Beach Commissioner Ricky Arriola.

Other changes include prohibiting chain restaurants along Ocean Drive and banning excessive solicitation by bars and restaurants.
