FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - A South Florida man, accused of a hit-and-run involving a little boy, has bonded out of jail.

Milton Walker was released from the Broward County jail last night after posting a $5,000 bond.

Walker was charged with failure to stop and remain at the scene of a crash.

“The car was speeding so fast,” said Jayden McFarlane, the 7-year-old victim. “It hit me and then I fell all the way over there.”

Police said he hit the 7-year-old, who was riding his bike in a Miramar neighborhood last month.

According to authorities, Walker told them he thought he hit a garbage can.

“Now, I don’t know of any garbage can that is put out at 10:30 in the morning on a Sunday,” said Felissa McFarlane, Jayden’s mom, “but even if it was, people waving you down, flagging you down, and you just kept on going.”

The child spent days recovering in the hospital from a fractured shoulder, but has since been released.
