MIAMI (WSVN) - A man who confessed to a chilling crime faced a Miami-Dade judge on Friday.

According to officials, Carlos Enriquez-Polledo walked into a police station, Thursday, and admitted to fatally stabbing his girlfriend to death. He led officers to her body shortly afterwards.

Enriquez-Polledo is currently being held without bond.

The 28-year-old victim had an 8-year-old daughter and traveled to the U.S. from Puerto Rico nearly a year and a half ago. The victim’s family was at the home, in the area of the 3400 block of Northwest First Avenue in Wynwood, during the stabbing.

“Went and knocked on the door,” explained the victim’s cousin Victor Sorer. “For some reason, went inside the apartment and stabbed her one time, I do believe was in the heart, it was a fatal wound. You don’t know when it’s gonna happen and when it’s gonna touch you. I never think it was gonna happen to me, but today it’s my family.”

The victim’s name has not yet been released, and police said they are not looking for any other suspects.
