FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - A South Florida doctor and a spa owner have been accused of running a prescription drug scam.

Dr. Frank Pierre and Terry Kerr were charged with obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.

Authorities said the men used fake patients’ names to obtain phentermine, an addictive weight-control drug. Some prescriptions were even allegedly made out to deceased individuals.

The men worked out of the TLK Wellness Spa on Southeast Ninth Avenue and Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.
