MIAMI (WSVN) - While driving in South Florida, you will notice that many drivers use their hazard lights when it is raining. Those drivers are breaking the law.

Officials want to remind drivers that is against the law to use their hazard lights, unless their vehicle is stopped or stalled.

“We continue to remind drivers across South Florida that when you are driving in wet conditions, to use their headlights and to not utilize their hazards. It’s actually prohibited by state law,” Miami Beach Police spokesperson Ernesto Rodriguez told 7News.

If visibility is reduced to the point where you cannot see, it is recommended to pull over to a safe location until weather clears.
