MIAMI (WSVN) - With hundreds of people traveling to Miami for Art Basel, getting around the city will be a headache, so here are a few tips to help you get around.
As part of a partnership with the event, Miami-Dade Transit will also roll out their Art Express event. Beginning Wednesday and ending Sunday, buses will run every 15 minutes between Midtown, the design district and Miami Beach from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Wednesday to Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday.
The Metrorail and Metromover will extend their Thursday and Sunday hours until 2 a.m.
The Art Express routes include:
Design District at Northeast First Avenue, between Northeast 38th and 39th streets
Midtown at Northeast 29th Street, between North Miami Avenue and Northeast First Avenue
Miami Beach at the Royal Palm Garage and 41st Street
Miami Beach at Meridian Avenue and 18th Street, across from the Miami Beach Convention Center
Uber and Lyft are always available for use, along with traditional taxis.
UberBOAT is also available to navigate the waterways. The service is only available for up to six riders, 21 years old or older.
Riders can request the service while in the UberBOAT zone. According to the Miami Herald, the zone in Miami will be from east of Interstate 95 from 40th Street, north of I-395, south to 13th Street. The zone in Miami Beach will stretch from 50th and Collins to South Pointe Park.
