MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (WSVN) — A lockdown has been lifted at a Miami Gardens school after reports of shots fired near the campus launched a police investigation, Monday afternoon.

According to Miami-Dade School Board Police, Myrtle Grove K-8 Center was placed on lockdown for precautionary measures, at around 1 p.m.

7Skyforce captured Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedics rendering aid to a passenger of a black SUV on the side of the road.

Officials said that person was shot in the leg and taken to the hospital. The injury was deemed not life-threatening.

Everyone at the school was safe.

Miami Gardens Police remain on the scene investigating the shooting.
