Habitat ReStore marks down furniture, raises money for community

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA. (WSVN) - If home furnishings are on any wish lists this holiday season, The Habitat ReStore has you covered.

In Fort Lauderdale, the Habitat ReStore, located at 505 W. Broward Blvd., sells gifts for those with an eye for home improvement. “A little bit of everything for the do-it-yourself-er,” said Habitat ReStore employee Nancy Daly.

Employees at the store are busy marking down merchandise for its annual sale. “We have sofas, love seats, chairs, sinks, toilets, chandeliers, doors, windows,” said Daly. “Any home improvement items you can find right here.”

A china cabinet was seen on-sale for 20 percent off, along with a table and four chairs. “It’s a lovely set,” said Daly. “It’s one of the nicer pieces that we get.”

A sofa, love seat and a chair? “This is going to be 50 percent off,” said Daly. “It was only $399 to begin with!”

All of the proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity to aid in paying for the construction of new homes for families in need.

“You get an awesome deal for Black Friday, and you’ll be doing a service to the community,” said Daly.

The Habitat ReStore is open until 8 p.m. on Black Friday.
