If you’ve been avoiding Wynwood due to fears of contracting Zika, maybe this incentive might re-introduce you back to your favorite Miami foodie and art spot.

On Saturday, parking run by the Miami Parking Authority (MPA) in Wynwood will be free from 12:01 a.m. up until 11:50 p.m.

Due to the recent increase of locally transmitted cases of the Zika virus in Wynwood, businesses have taken a financial and moral blow.

Therefore, the CEO of Miami Parking Authority, Arthur “Art” Noriega, hopes to stimulate business and activity back into the neighborhood.

“Wynwood is an important economic engine for the City of Miami,” said Noriega, “and at MPA, we want to make sure we vigorously offer our support in times of economic hardship.”

The area covered for free parking includes: the railroad tracks in the east to Northwest Sixth Avenue in the west and from Northwest 20th Street in the south north to Northwest 29th Street.

For even more of an incentive, MPA has already been offering two hours of free parking to those who visit Wynwood until Aug. 31.
