PLANTATION, FLA. (WSVN) - Florida Power and Light is giving Broward County a big upgrade for better storm efficiency.
FPL crews are strengthening the county’s power lines by making the energy grid more storm-resistant to improve reliability in good and bad weather.
The project will involve installation of stronger utility poles that can withstand winds of up to 145 miles per hour.
More than 1,600 residents will benefit from the upgrades, as well as local businesses, a gas station and even the City of Plantation Fire Department.
