MIAMI (WSVN) - The former city manager of Opa-locka has surrendered in the wake of a scandal at city hall.

According to officials, 51-year-old David Chiverton appeared before a federal judge on bribery charges, Tuesday.

He resigned in July.

Dozens of FBI agents raided city hall in March, following a three-year investigation that alleged Chiverton and other officials pocketed thousands in illegal kickbacks from business owners for building, zoning and code enforcement favors.
