MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) - Five people have been arrested and Miami Beach Police have warrants out for the arrests of four others in connection to a fraud investigation at the popular South Beach hot spot Sugar Factory.

According to Miami Beach Police, the restaurant’s general manager discovered more than $86,000 had been stolen, over the course of a month and a half, from the business, located at 1144 Ocean Drive.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that several current employees were clocking in as former employees to transfer cash transactions and not be tracked.

Each time an ex-employee was clocked in and out, the activity was erased from the system. The general manager said only an on-duty manager had the ability to do so.

Police said four arrests are still pending.
