MIAMI (WSVN) - The driver in a crash that critically injured a South Florida school principal is facing more charges.

Marilyn Aguilera appeared in court, Wednesday, facing an additional DUI charge for causing serious injury to South Dade High School principal Javier Perez.

According to police, Aguilera was behind the wheel of an SUV that struck Perez at a ball park back in April.

Aguilera has pleaded not guilty and remains on house arrest.

Perez has since remained in the hospital.
