SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, FLA. (WSVN) - A car crash in Southwest Miami-Dade led to a tricky rescue, early Saturday morning.

According to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, a driver lost control of his truck and hit a tree near Southwest 192nd Street and 147th Avenue, at around 3:30 a.m. Officials said the vehicle rolled over several times before landing on its side.

Emergency crews used a power saw to cut open the truck’s roof so they could pull the motorist from the mangled vehicle. “Our medical personnel from our rescue vehicle were already working on the victim through the windshield,” said Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Chief Jose Herrera. “They were already stabilizing him and applying intravenous solutions and making sure he was stable during the extrication process.”

Paramedics airlifted the victim to an area hospital in unknown condition.

Officials said the motorist was driving at a high rate of speed. Officials did not specify what led the victim to lose control.
