MIAMI (WSVN) - A request for reduced bond for a South Florida driver accused of killing three people was denied.

Shakeena Hasty broke down as she appealed to a judge to reduce her bond on manslaughter charges so she can get out of jail, Thursday, but the judge said no.

A relative of one of the victims said she is glad the judge didn’t budge after the defendant’s mother proclaimed her daughter’s innocence.

“I feel anger. I feel sad. I feel a lot of pain,” Jessenia Villafana, the victim’s sister said crying. “I just feel really emotional. I feel like a wreck.”

The defendant’s mother stands by her daughter. “My daughter is a good person, you know. I feel for the family. My prayers go out to them, but it’s not my daughter’s fault,” she said.

According to police, Hasty was driving under the influence when she slammed into the victims’ car, killing three passengers and injuring the driver, in Northwest Miami-Dade, on Mother’s Day.
