CORAL GABLES, FLA. (WSVN) - The Miami Dolphins Foundation hosted two Halloween-themed fall family festivals as part of their Cancer Challenge, Saturday.

One of the fundraisers took place at Holiday Park in Fort Lauderdale, and the other took place in Coral Gables, on the University of Miami campus.

The day consisted of a short bike ride and fun activities for the entire family.

However, the real reason for the event was to raise awareness and funds for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, where doctors aim to find a cure. “Every dollar that is raised goes right to research that can help save children’s lives or adults dealing with cancer,” said Stephen Nimer, the center’s director.

The foundation said it raised more than $5 million last year, and could raise even more this year.
