Davie sends out incorrect voter ID cards

Residents in Davie are concerned after, they said, they were mailed incorrect voter ID cards.

Some residents received cards with the wrong party affiliation printed on them, while others were sent someone else’s ID card.

“There was a printing error at our printers and 1,700 voter information cards were affected, isolated in the town of Davie,” said Tonya Edwards, a Davie voter education coordinator. “That issue has been corrected. New cards have been sent out to all of the voters.”

There are more than 46,000 active voters registered in Davie.

“I hear so much about voter fraud,” Hillary Jones, a voter in Davie, said. “I’m worried that this is done intentionally.”

Only Davie residents have reported an issue with their voter ID cards thus far.
