MIAMI (WSVN) - A number of cruise ships were forced to stay an additional day at sea due to Hurricane Matthew.

Passengers disembarked their cruise liners at PortMiami, Friday, after their extended trips. However, most of them didn’t seem to mind.

“All in all, it was a really wonderful trip,” said passenger Joanne Miller. “We got an extra day at sea. The cruise line, they were wonderful.”

“It was really great, better than being at home and stressing the whole time,” said passenger Helen Evans.

“It’s like a snow day, going to an extra port and getting an extra day. It’s like a snow day,” said Michelle Packer.

PortMiami resumed all regular operations Friday — including ships set to depart.
